Xplornet acquires NetSet’s Internet access business

Catalyst portfolio company Xplornet, one of Canada’s leading broadband service providers, entered into an agreement for the purchase of the Internet access business of NetSet Communications. The acquisition is the largest in Xplornet’s history and accelerates the company’s continued expansion across Western Canada.

Datavail Corp., provider of managed services for data and database administration, acquired Accelatis, a management-software firm based in Wilton, Conn. This acquisition is the fourth by Datavail in the past year. It acquired Art of BI, an Oracle business intelligence consulting firm, 12 months ago; Navantis, a Canadian-based Microsoft consultancy, six months ago; and Advanced EPM, an Oracle Platinum partner, four months ago.

The acquisition is part of Datavail’s growth strategy to build on its core capabilities in data and application operation and integration. AdvancedEPM’s expertise in Oracle application cloud implementation and customization will be combined with Datavail’s expertise to create an end-to-end application life cycle offering to support the Oracle EPM solution stack.

Catalyst Investors Sells InSite Wireless Stake, Continues Partnership Through Fund IV

InSite Wireless Group, LLC announced that Macquarie Infrastructure Partners III—as part of an initial investment of approximately $280 million—has acquired a 42.5% equity interest in the company from Catalyst Investors II, L.P. and other minority investors. MIP III has also committed to additional future investments to promote InSite’s continued growth. InSite will continue to be led by its existing management team headed by co-founders David E. Weisman, President and CEO, and Lance C. Cawley, CFO. Cox Enterprises—and several of its subsidiaries—and Catalyst Investors IV, L.P. will continue to be investors in InSite.
