PresenceLearning’s Online Therapy Environment Lightyear Wins Tech & Learning Award of Excellence

PresenceLearning’s Newest Online Therapy Environment Lightyear Wins a 2016 Tech & Learning Award of Excellence

The live, online therapy solution won in the Best Upgraded Product category for delivering high-quality video and sound at lower bandwidths

Press release: San Francisco — PresenceLearning’s recently updated live, online therapy solution, Lightyear, has been awarded a 2016 Tech & Learning Award of Excellence in the Best Upgraded Products category. The award program, now in its 34th year, honors both new and upgraded innovative software, hardware, network, app and web products that have proven to be helpful educator tools. This is the fifth Tech & Learning Award of Excellence PresenceLearning has won.

“When we started beta testing Lightyear in August 2015, the feedback was fantastic,” said Clay Whitehead, co-Founder and co-CEO of PresenceLearning. “Our therapists and the districts that use our live, online therapy services have all benefitted greatly from the upgrades and getting recognized by such a prestigious award makes it that much sweeter.”

Lightyear provides high fidelity, live telehealth sessions with crisp, clear video and sound while putting significantly less demand on school network bandwidth. This makes it easier for schools, especially those in areas with limited access to high-speed Internet, to connect students with PresenceLearning’s large network of highly qualified speech pathologists, occupational therapists, and behavior and mental health professionals. PresenceLearning has added many new features to the environment, including newly designed activities and games, a new reward system and custom animations, a flashcard editor, documentation tools for group sessions, new and improved assessment and more. Lightyear’s many upgraded features make it much easier for therapists to create fun, engaging and individualized therapy sessions for each student to work on their IEP goals.
