Videology Moves Headquarters to New York City

Baltimore Business Journal – Videology is calling New York City its headquarters, but isn’t giving up Baltimore as home.

The company named its New York office its headquarters as it looks to grow business overseas. About 50 of Videology’s 350 employees work in New York.

“The geographic center of gravity for advertising and media is New York City, globally — it just is,” said CEO Scott Ferber.

Videology has clients in 28 countries and sees big growth opportunities in Asia and Europe. The company recently closed deals with four major media clients that Ferber expects will bring in hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue this year.

Yahoo Japan is among those new clients. Videology announced last November that it would serve as the video platform for Yahoo Japan’s video offerings.

Ferber could not discuss the three other clients, two of which are based in Asia and another in the U.S.

Videology has raised more than $120 million in venture capital. The company reportedly had revenue of $200 million last year and Ferber acknowledges Videology is keeping its options open in regards to an initial public offering.

Videology has about 150 employees in South Baltimore, where the heart of the company’s operations remain. Ferber is a native of the Baltimore area and the city is where he and brother John Ferber built Advertising.com before selling it to AOL in 2004 for $435 million.
