The WHIR: Codero Hosting Expands with New Austin Office, Names SVP of Product Development
Web hosting provider Codero Hosting announced on Tuesday it has expanded with the opening of its new Austin, Texas office and the addition of Chandler Vaughn as SVP of product development.
Codero has grown significantly in the past few years with recent appointments, as well as data center and office openings. The new Austin office marks Codero’s third office with headquarters in Lenexa, Kansas and a location in Phoenix. Codero provides hosting services from its data centers in Phoenix, Chicago, and its recently opened Ashburn, Virginia.
The Austin office will be home to recently appointed Codero president and CEO Emil Sayegh, members of the product development, marketing, customer support, and sales teams.
As SVP of product development, Vaughn will be in charge of directing and leading the development, product management, and strategic alliances for Codero.
“I am fortunate to have worked with Chandler at Rackspace so I know first hand that he is a great team builder, a strong leader, and I am confident that he will add to Codero’s rich, vibrant culture,” said Sayegh. “Chandler will spearhead our world-class product development strategy and team to accelerate our growth and success. His work ethic and experience in building enterprise-grade private, public, and hybrid clouds will bring enormous value to Codero.”
Vaughn most recently served as VP of cloud product development at SunGard, where he led technical design and engineering efforts for the company’s cloud and managed services businesses.
He also helped shape the technical strategy for both SunGard’s recovery services and managed services businesses.
Vaughn served as the founder and head of the Cloud Computing Research Center at the University of Texas at Austin, a project for which he was eventually named as the inventor on a few pending patents for distributed and cloud computing.
Before joining SunGard in early 2010, Vaughn was working with Rackspace during the launch of both the Rackspace Cloud Servers and Cloud Files products lines.
He also led the product management and product marketing teams for Rackspace’s managed hosting business through the company’s accelerated growth prior to IPO.
Codero plans to expand its team and is hiring for a number of positions in its Austin office.
